Bares für Rares - 1st broadcasting of the year 2021
Bares für Rares is a German TV show that has usually been shown on weekdays at 3.05 pm on ZDF since the fourth season. In the show, viewers can have the value of their antiques or other rarities estimated by a team of experts and then sell them to dealers in the show. The dealers are not informed of the price quoted by the experts beforehand.
The objects presented in the show are mostly jewellery, paintings, furniture, various figurines, toys, antique appliances or vehicles and the like. They may not fall under the protection of species. If the value of the item presented, as assessed by the experts, is not far below the pain threshold previously stated by the participant, he or she receives the so-called dealer card from the show's host, Horst Lichter. With this, the participant can offer his or her object for sale to five dealers in the TV programme. The sale proceeds according to the principle of an auction, although the participant has the option of withdrawing his or her object from the sale if he or she is not satisfied with the highest price achieved. The dealers who have appeared on the show so far include the German art gymnast and antiques dealer Ludwig Hofmaier, the art and antiques dealer Fabian Kahl, who belongs to the "black scene", and the dealer Walter Lehnertz, known to most as "Waldi".
