Women under National Socialism - Disenfranchisement and Persecution

Many German Jews sensed long before 1933 that National Socialism meant only bad things for them. But no one could imagine how bad things would get.

When the National Socialists came to power in 1933, many things changed for women in Germany. Adolf Hitler ordered the image of a woman as a homebody - apolitical, child-bearing, loyal to the fatherland. Many young women were quite fascinated by National Socialism and Adolf Hitler. They followed the Führer enthusiastically and unconditionally naively. The image of the helpless follower has burned itself into the memory of later generations. But how many knew more? How did the women experience that time?
