Cologne from below A film by Clemens Gersch and Gerrit Jöns-Anders
Once the Romans came to the Rhine, today they are tourists. Most of them want to go to Cologne Cathedral. The cathedral is the most visited building in Germany. But there are treasures hidden underground that hardly anyone knows about. A mysterious city - Cologne from below.
A widely ramified network runs through the Cologne underworld. This is where the invisible lifelines of the city pulsate: tunnel systems guarantee the supply of the long-distance trains at the main station, sewage troops clear the imperial chandelier hall of dirt + mud + young archaeologists discover traces of the Romans everywhere.
