Land und Lecker im Advent - Classic beef roulades from Löwenberger Land
"Land und Lecker" in Advent is on the road this winter from the Alps to Brandenburg - an extraordinary journey of enjoyment through Germany. In a joint production by WDR, SWR, BR and rbb, viewers get to know four countrywomen, their families and farms. We are guests of Sabine Klemme in East Westphalia-Lippe - her farm in idyllic Kalletal almost seems like a small open-air museum. Brigitte Müllerleile from the Kasperhof lives on a real Black Forest farm in the midst of fir forests and meadows. Martina Koch invites us to her old square farm in Löwenberger Land in Brandenburg. For the finale we go to the Berchtesgaden Alps, where Catharina Lichtmannegger shows us her mountain farm amidst a motley mix of animals. All the women invite each other to their farms, give an insight into Christmas customs and cook for each other with local recipes. Today, the Land + Lecker bus is traveling to the Koch farm in Löwenberger Land in Brandenburg. Located in Großmutz, the family estate is over 300 years old and is a listed, typical Brandenburg four-sided farm. On the farm there is cattle breeding, pigs, sheep + red deer in the game enclosure. The suckler cow herd is outside all year round, and the pigs also live in an open barn. Martina is a teacher for mathematics and physics. After classes, her second job begins; it's off to sausage-making - her favorite task - in the farm's own butcher shop. Together with her husband Roland, Martina processes the meat without flavor enhancers or preservatives. In addition to the farm store with direct marketing, the couple runs a farm café, because Martina's second great passion is baking. Martina uses her own meat for her Christmas three-course menu + cooks the ladies with kettle soup, salad and sausage potpourri. For the main course, she dishes up beef roulade in a bed of mushrooms with napkin dumplings. Mascarpone cream with tipsy fruits and clamp cake serves the passionate cook for dessert. For an excursion, the hostess takes the countrywomen on a canoe trip through the romantic lake landscape on the Himmelpfort Haussee - very close to the Himmelpfort Christmas village, where Santa Claus himself sits from November to Christmas Eve and the Christmas post office is located. "Land und Lecker" in Advent - countrywomen from North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria + Brandenburg invite the audience to a festive Christmas menu.
