Beautiful! - Beautiful holiday islands
Islands are dream destinations when it comes to holidays. Especially at the beginning of the new year, it is especially nice to dream: Where are we going this year? The Wunderschön team can make some suggestions. For each month, Tamina Kallert and Andrea Grießmann show you an island where the sun is shining most beautifully. On our trip around the world, we will visit beaches under palm trees, bizarre mountains and impressive volcanic landscapes. Depending on the season, we visit islands in the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean, the Aegean, the Ionian Sea, the Adriatic and the Mediterranean. In spring almond blossom + hot thermal springs Find out where the almond blossom is most beautiful and where there are eccentric Easter customs. The Spanish island of La Palma goes all out with a powder battle in February. Hot springs of volcanic origin bubble up on the Italian island of Ischia + allow a warm bath even in April . Tamina Kallert also experiences fire-breathing volcanoes + hot springs on the seabed on the Lipari Islands north of Sicily in the Thyrrenian Sea. Mediterranean islands with history in summer The Dalmatian islands of the Adriatic start in Split and are a real experience for sailors, divers and hikers. Empress Elisabeth of Austria travelled to the Greek island of Corfu. She had a castle built on the greenest of all Greek islands + Corfu's Venetian past still provides tourists with genuine Italian cappuccino today. Santorini is a dream in the Greek national colours of blue and white. According to legend, the goddess Aphrodite was born from the sea on Cyprus. Today Cyprus is the only island that is still divided and offers an interesting contrast of Greek and Turkish culture. In autumn + winter, golden south and overseas Spain's islands: For Germans, that means Mallorca for a start. Far away from the Ballermann, the Balearic island also offers tranquillity and nature experiences. Ibiza, the old hippie stronghold of the 60s and 70s, is still a place for individualists, but also for all the rich and beautiful + ordinary people. La Palma is the least visited island of the Canaries and a hiker's paradise for people of all ages. Shepherd's hops in the mountains and the Latin American-style capital - Gran Canaria offers clear contrasts far away from the tourist resorts. At the end of the rainy season, the Seychelles become a paradise. Giant tortoises live to be 250 years old here and tropical fruits like cinnamon + lemons are fragrant. We show how such a trip can become affordable.
