Fits, wobbles and has air - How apprentices cut roses, cover roofs and control asphalt pavers - 4-part documentary format about trainee craftsmen

Four trainee craftsmen and their new phase of life as roofers, gardeners, road builders and joiners.

They are trainees and they love their job. What can they expect on the construction sites this time? The trainees often surpass themselves, but sometimes everything goes wrong. Where there's wood, there are chips. Fortunately, their trainers, the master craftsmen and journeymen, are right by their side.

Four trainee craftsmen and their new chapter in life as roofers, gardeners, road builders and carpenters

Nick, 19, decided to train as a roofer because he loves being outside in all weathers. Master roofer Tobi wants to see how Nick does at height today and then perhaps let him cover a ridge.

Robin, 18, is doing an apprenticeship in gardening and landscaping. He has to work in a large private garden in Horstmar under the critical eye of his apprentice Alina - and listen to a few jokes.

Road construction apprentice Can, 21, is allowed on one of the largest machines for the first time: the asphalt paver. It's a real challenge to steer the machine, which weighs several tons, straight ahead with centimetre precision. Foreman Ralf shows him how it's done.

Alex, 23, is an apprentice carpenter in his third year. He often works together with Sarah, who is only two years older than him. She had to assert herself in her apprenticeship and now wants to inspire other women for the trade on social networks.
