Goodbye Germany! - The world's greatest adventures With the family to Peru

"My big dream was to earn a lot of money in Germany + have a comfortable life." As he says this, Benjamin is sitting with his wife Lena and their five children in the South American country of Peru, almost 11,000 kilometres away. He works there as a urologist and emergency doctor. On a voluntary basis. And earns just one seventh of his previous salary. Here in Germany, that would be about 250,000 euros a year. We show in the video why he and his family have nevertheless been completely + totally committed to it for two years now + how adventurous their new life in the land of extremes looks.

"Goodbye Deutschland" emigrant Benjamin Zeier: "I'm just supposed to be here!". For Benjamin + Lena Zeier it is clear: they want to help others. Without the doctor's voluntary work, many people in the Peruvian village where they live would be denied the appropriate medical care. "I am simply supposed to be here," is Benjamin's clear realisation. The family puts up with a lot just for the good cause. They live on donations + live in a Third World country with all the attendant problems like power cuts and floods. Very little of their current life is comparable to that in Germany. A trip to the weekly market alone quickly becomes an exhausting and time-consuming event. "I'll never complain about a German street again," Lena then gladly promises.

Will Peru really be a home for the Zeier family in the future? Or are the restrictions + deprivations too great in the end?
