Paediatrician Berwald - Help with a heart Emily and blood poisoning
With a fever of 41 degrees and kidney pain, Emily is brought to the paediatric clinic in Rüsselheim as an emergency case. The diagnosis: pyelonephritis and septicaemia. Emily has now been in hospital for 6 days and at first the medication seems to be working. But suddenly the 13-year-old's blood values deteriorate again. Paediatrician Mario Berwald is worried. On the paediatric ward today, Anke is once again busy doing her rounds with the play trolley. The ward's playroom is closed due to coronavirus, so Anke is bringing rolling fun to the little patients in their rooms: audio games, cards and colouring pictures. As a trained paediatric nurse, Anke always has good ideas for a welcome distraction from everyday hospital life.
