SAT.1 Rewe, Edeka, Kaufland & Co. - The SAT.1 discounter check!
From 12th of August, SAT.1 is launching an exciting four-part series that takes a closer look at prominent retail chains. The "SAT.1-Check" will scrutinise supermarkets, drugstores, furniture stores and fashion chains and provide viewers with valuable insights and comparisons.
The check series kicks off with "Rewe, Edeka, Kaufland & Co. - Der SAT.1 Supermarkt-Check!" on Monday, 12th of August at 08.15pm.
In 2023, the German food retail sector generated sales of around 200 billion euros. Supermarkets are the preferred shopping destination for the majority of Germans - over 40 per cent even shop at supermarkets several times a week, according to a recent "forsa" survey commissioned by SAT.1.
But how do supermarkets such as Edeka, Kaufland and Rewe perform in terms of quality, freshness, selection and private labels?
The "SAT.1-Check" looks behind the scenes of these retail giants, talks to their managing directors and recognised industry experts and shows on location where supermarkets are actually cheaper and better than discounters.
