On the very first Saturday in 2024, Kai Pflaume presents a new edition of "Small vs. big - the incredible duel". Ten little experts challenge ten big stars to spectacular duels. They include Ronan Keating, Katja Riemann, Christoph Maria Herbst, Ronaldo Villazón, Alica Schmidt, Oliver Welke, Lukas Dauser, Marie-Luise Finck, Severin Freund and Jan Josef Liefers.
On stage and in a duel: top star Ronan Keating. Ronan Keating began his unique career as a member of the band Boyzone, with whom he celebrated huge success. As a solo artist, the Irish singer became an absolute superstar with hits such as "When You Say Nothing At All" and "Life Is A Rollercoaster".
For Ronan Keating, the challenge of twelve-year-old Emma on "Little vs. Big" is a real TV premiere: He has never taken part in a TV game show before. In the radio hit duel, both have to name the correct title and artist from well-known hits that are played at triple speed.
"heute show" anchorman Oliver Welke and his duel opponent Lukas also need a keen ear. The 13-year-old claims to be able to identify more prominent sports reporters solely by their voice than the experienced sports presenter Oliver Welke.
One man with a very well-trained ear is Rolando Villazón. However, the opera star has to "see" the music during "Klein gegen Groß". Red LEDs visualise when the instruments in the orchestra have their cues. Can Karl (13) "see" more pieces of music from the flickering lights than his famous opponent?
Her experience from more than 40 cinema films, many of them successful German comedies, make the popular actress Katja Riemann the right opponent in her duel with Maja (13). The two have to recognise German cinema comedies of the last 30 years only on the basis of a very short excerpt, which has also been distorted.
Twelve-year-old Tom challenges athletics star Alica Schmidt to a 30-metre sprint duel. Not on the tartan track, however, but on a course of sports mats placed on edge. Every step has to be precisely placed in order to cover the distance as quickly as possible.
Christoph Maria Herbst's duel is all about the right meter. Hannes (13) claims that he can recognise more poems solely by the distribution of stressed and unstressed syllables than the well-read actor.
These and four other thrilling duels await viewers on "Small vs. big - the incredible duel".
