The infotainment magazine, which started in 1990, prepares rather light + tabloid topics week after week, invites people who are in the headlines + conducts interviews with celebrities. Günter Jauch led the show for 20 years before handing over the moderation to Steffen Hallaschka in 2011.
Hardly anyone speaks openly about his salary. But that's over now: In the stern TV special Dieter Könnes welcomes people from different professions who talk openly about what they earn.
Wealth and poverty are often close together: In 2021, the number of millionaires in Germany has risen to about 1.6 million - about 13 million people live in poverty. "stern TV Spezial" meets those affected on both sides. While lottery millionaire Chico can now live in luxury, Corinna and Dominique from Cologne struggle to survive financially. They each have two jobs to support themselves + their children.
