Fits, wobbles and has air - How apprentices move tombstones, climb attics and fight grease
Five trades apprentices and their new lives as carpenters, stone sculptors, pipe cleaners and chimney sweeps
Today, apprentice carpenters Heather, 21, and Gina, 25, are to complete a drywall job on their own. Arriving at the job site, Heather emphasizes a lockable toilet door. Niklas shows what a gentleman he is.
Apprentice Marina, 22, is making great progress in her training as a stone sculptor. Today she is working in the cemetery - together with journeyman Lukas and her boss Timothy Vincent. There, Marina experiences how energy-sapping it is to erect a 500 kg gravestone.
Pipe cleaner Sven and apprentice Luca, 19, are called to an emergency. A pipe in a converted mill is clogged with old grease. Typical problem: The customer has previously tinkered with it himself.
Chimney sweep apprentice Lukas,16, and journeywoman Sandra have their first job today in a hotel. There, they are doing anything but vacationing. They climb into the dusty attic to sweep the chimney. That takes a lot of energy.
